Easter

It's been far too long since the last post, and I felt a great desire to share my gratitude for the Savior on this Easter Sunday. To me, the Atonement is the most important event that has ever occurred since the beginning of this world. Click here to read an article by Jeffrey R. The Tooth Fairy Cometh

Somehow, this seems like the beginning of the end. . .the last child to lose his first tooth.  What to do?  We feed them, they grow up!

Homeschool Field Trip

So, you're afraid of snakes, scorpions,  spiders, and other creepy crawlies? Or maybe you never got over your childhood fear of dogs.  This guy will help you overcome your fear.  His name is Mr. Valentine, and he tours the Los Angeles area with not only creepy crawlies, but cute and cuddly animals he's saved from destruction. In these pictures, he's holding a kinkajou named Toby, snake (sorry, I forget what species), and baby opossum.

Jared, Noah and I had the opportunity to go to Hacienda Heights where one of my nephews attends a mommy and me preschool.  All the kids had the experience of holding almost all of the animals.  It was  really interesting--some of the parents were more squeamish than their children.

In these pictures, Jared's got a python wrapped around his neck,  he's feeding a wallaby dandelions, and holding a great big lizard (again, I forget what species). Noah has a corn snake named Sunshine and a baby opossum.  He also held a millipede, and several varieties of lizards.  Other animals present were a black widow spider, a scorpion, and some kind of huge ugly frog.  The boys thoroughly enjoyed their hands-on experience, and can't wait to go back again next year!
